Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery

Bariatric bypass surgery for weight loss is not something to be undertaken lightly and without considerable 'due diligence'. There is now a lot more information available than there was back in 2004 when I investigated the various procedures.

The procedure that I decided was best for me was laparoscopic lap banding .

Laparoscopic lap banding was the least invasive one I found and I have now lived with the lap band for the past 5 years.

Am I happy with it?

Yes, very. I initially lost 55kgs and am now no longer in danger of progressing onto becoming a diabetic.

Anyone who is a diabetic really needs to start taking the problem very, very seriously and doing something about it that will alleviate some of the problems before losing eyesight, toes or their life.

Is laparoscopic lap banding suitable for you? That is a decision that only you can make in association with your bariatric surgeon. The more information you have the wiser your decision will be for you.

To your success!

Warmly,

Jan
