Weight Loss by Fasting

Fasting to lose weight is not advisable under any circumstances because it's just plain dangerous to your short term and long term health.

Some people have gone on a liquid fast and they don't seem to suffer too badly short term or long term to my knowledge. Many people around the globe do this for spiritual reasons but it is never (once again to my knowledge) longer than one week max and they are usually under the guide of a spiritual advisor during this time. A friend of mine used to do this every six months or so and I would have to say she glowed from this experience.

She was a very devout Hare Krishna and followed their teachings, well religiously. If she was to be a walking example of the Hare Krishna faith they could never have picked a more robust or devout advertisement for the faith. But even though it was a liquid fast she was still absorbing fruit and vegetable juices specially prepared. She also drank a lot of water to detoxify her body during this time.

If you or someone near and dear to you, has ever been seriously ill and unable to eat, did you notice how fast their skin lost tone and how their whole body sagged? This is what happens when you deprive your body of nutrients and quite frankly, it's not a very good look. If losing weight is all you need to do there's no need to kill yourself before your time because if that was your intention, why bother going on a fasting diet? The overweight will kill you off soon enough.
